Patrick D. Boyle, Attorney at Law
Professional
Background
Patrick became licensed in Illinois in 2005, and subsequently worked in
two boutique Chicago litigation firms specializing in Landlord/Tenant
lawsuits and general civil litigation. In 2010, Patrick moved to
Minnesota and accepted a position as an associate attorney at Skjold
Barthel Business Attorneys (later Skjold Parrington). Patrick worked at
Skjold Barthel/Skjold Parrington from October 2010 to April 2012, during
which time he was again involved in all manner of civil disputes and
general business litigation. Patrick was involved in all manner of
complex commercial litigation including mortgage foreclosures,
homeowners’ insurance claims and litigation, securities litigation,
FINRA arbitrations, shareholder disputes, insurance disputes, labor and
employment issues and contractual disputes.
In 2012, Chris Parrington and Ben Skjold, the principals of Skjold
Parrington, accepted positions at Foley Mansfield. As a result, on May
1, 2012, Patrick opened his own firm and became a solo practitioner
focusing his practice on mortgage foreclosure defense and homeowners’
insurance disputes from the perspective of the homeowner. Since opening
his firm, Patrick has also begun assisting individuals in declaring
Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, settling general personal debts, and
helping clients to repair and better manage their finances.
Patrick’s practice now focuses on Mortgage Foreclosure and Bankruptcy
and he has assisted dozens of Minnesota homeowners in saving their homes
and achieving modifications of their mortgages. He has become a staple
as a representative of borrowers in mortgage matters and has appeared
before both the Minnesota Court and Federal Court on these matters
countless times. He has been commended by clients, judges, attorneys
acting on behalf of banks, and bank employees for his knowledge,
understanding, responsiveness and communicativeness.
Professionally, Patrick’s passion remains assisting individuals in
resolving their legal and financial difficulties.
Personal Background
Patrick grew up near Baltimore, MD and is the fourth of six children in
a wonderful family with whom he remains very close. After a childhood
and adolescence spent studying, reading, playing sports and debating
with his elders (which left more than one adult demanding that he attend
law school as soon as he was old enough to do so), Patrick attended The
College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Amid occasional studying
and more frequent shenanigans, Patrick met his future wife (Julia),
managed to graduate, and finalized his applications to law school. After
college, Patrick and Julia moved to Chicago, where they attended law
school and graduate school, respectively. Ultimately, Patrick and Julia
spent eight years in Chicago before moving back to Edina, MN where Julia
grew up.
On January 3, 2014, Patrick and Julia were blessed with a beautiful baby
boy, Grady Ryan.
When he is not working, Patrick can be found running, playing golf,
reading, and generally enjoying Minnesota’s many parks and lakes with
Grady and Julia.

In 2004, Amber began her career at Lamey & Pacyga, P.A., a small

managing and assisting the solo attorney/firm of Ryan Pacyga Criminal
Defense, P.A. until December 2011.
Amber joined Patrick on May 1, 2012, as the Paralegal, Office Manager,
and Billing Manager. Along with the many tasks and duties of multiple
titles, she was asked to assist, implement and facilitate the start-up
of The Law Office of Patrick D. Boyle, P.A., as she had previously and
successfully done. She created and is responsible for firm’s technology
infrastructure, polices procedures, and other basic/advanced aspects in
managing the firm. She currently manages the firm and performs the
everyday tasks of an Office Manager, alongside her main duties as a
Paralegal to Patrick.
Amber assists Patrick in the areas of Bankruptcy Law, Mortgage
Foreclosure, Insurance Disputes, and General Business litigation. She is
responsible for assisting with daily case management, case work,
research, drafting pleadings and other documents, filing and serving
court documents, meeting with potential clients and performing intake
assessments alongside Patrick. She is the first point of contact for all
bankruptcy clients, and is primarily responsible for the management and
maintenance of the firm’s bankruptcy practice.
Amber is married for over 10 years, and lives in the South suburbs of
St. Paul. She has two young school aged children to manage along with
her busy work schedule.

assistant and receptionist. Char works with Patrick and Amber on
mortgage foreclosure cases, and is directly responsible for client

attends to all office duties of the firm, and answers incoming calls,
keeps clients informed of case status, assists in managing the firm’s
office and court calendars, assists in Amber in all the firms’ accounts
payable/receivable and in bankruptcy cases, and maintains the client
files. Char also assists Patrick with case work, including submission of
documents to banks and mortgage lenders, preparation of correspondence,
and management of the firm’s client lists. Char has gained a significant
place in the firm’s daily operation, and is constantly working her way
into the firm’s areas of practice very quickly. She has grown during her
time with the firm, and is currently moving forward to obtain her degree
in as a Legal Administrative Assistant.
Outside of work, Char enjoys spending time with her daughter, Laney (8
